Tech Fleet Q2: Celebrating Our Wins, Lessons, and Impact

Hey everyone! Q2 wrapped up, and so did another Program Management apprenticeship cohort. Looking back, this quarter was really about people stepping into things they hadn't done before, and figuring it out together as they went. Here’s a little peek at how our collective efforts shaped Tech Fleet over the past three months.

📊 Q2 by the numbers: 1 support platform went live · 1 pilot membership framework finalized · 1 community-driven newsletter launched · 16 pieces of work mapped

Building the Foundations

This quarter, our main focus was on boosting Tech Fleet’s internal systems and reviewing what we’ve done so far to make our future projects even smoother. smoother.

TF Support Platform Upgrade. We nailed it. The new Tech Fleet Support Platform (with FreeScout and Lovable AI) is now live, giving us a centralized, easy-to-use system for handling tech support tickets. This means faster responses and smoother operations for everyone.

Self-reflection keeps us agile. We wrapped up a detailed review of our Q1 projects, and the insights from this are already shaping how we plan future cohorts. We also moved from planning to action and finalized the framework for our new Pilot Membership model.

Q2 was all about expanding our reach and finding fresh ways to engage with our members. Shout out to the new members of our newsletter team: Jean-Marc Demay, Angeline, Anchal Chawla, and Romina French for putting this issue together.

Transitions can slow a team down, but this quarter a dedicated team tackled that head-on. They worked on improving our hand-off docs and processes so future teams can pick up projects mid-flight without missing a beat. We worked on designing community spaces for people to share knowledge, practice leadership, and learn from one another. We also welcomed new instructors to our learning lab programs, and took real steps toward making Tech Fleet a more inclusive community.

Looking Back, Moving Forward

Being truly agile means knowing when to pause, realign, or shift focus based on what actually matters. Q2 tested that. We made a few tough calls: some projects moved faster than planned, a few got added along the way, and others we slowed down or paused so we could focus on what mattered most in the moment.

As we close this chapter of the apprenticeship, the strong foundation we’ve built sets Tech Fleet up for a future that’s organized, data-driven, and community-focused. A huge thank you to everyone—from project teams, operational leads, to the apprentices—who put in their time, effort, and ideas to make Q2 a success!

🪞Member Spotlight

Meet a couple of Tech Fleet members who dove into the unknown and came out stronger.

While (taking on additional responsibilities to keep the project moving forward) was challenging, it turned out to be one of the most valuable parts of the experience. I initially joined the project expecting to focus primarily on UX design, but I ended up gaining much broader exposure. I contributed to UX research, conducted competitive analyses (etc). Taking on these responsibilities pushed me and my teammates outside our comfort zones...It also helped me develop skills that I might not have explored otherwise. ”- Vicky
“Tech Fleet has helped me build confidence in my abilities while giving me the opportunity to explore different roles. I've learned how to schedule and facilitate working sessions, meetings, and workshops. Many of which I had never led or even participated in before. I've also been trusted with taking ownership of work within my team and experienced firsthand what it means to work in an agile environment.” - Amanda Wolf
